While a huge part of our lives are spent at work and home, it's important to spend time outdoors. Breathe in fresh open air and exhale... well, everything weighing you down!

Spending time in nature or welcoming nature into your home improves three things:

  1. Physical wellness

  2. Mental wellness

  3. Community wellness

Spending time in outside spaces supports an active and healthy lifestyle. This increases life expectancy, improves sleep quality and reduces cancer risk. Nature is also typically relaxing, reduces our stress, cortisol levels, muscle tension and heart rates, which can ward off cardiovascular disease.

Being in nature can improve our mental capacities, increasing focus and attention. It may also lower the risk of depression and improve psychological stress recovery. Another component to mental health is social connection. Parks, trails and green space provides the perfect venue for people to come together with friends and family. They also serve as the perfect opportunity for people to connect with their local community.
